Rarer than Hens Teeth?

March 4th, 2010

So a copy of  Magnolia Ink went for £21 o eBay the other night. The world has gone insane! I have a read once copy sitting in my craftroom at the moment..I offered it to a person for the same price but she wanted me to go down to £15 because that was her maximum on eBay.. No I don’t think so, I like you and all that but I will take my chances elsewhere!

My craftroom is undergoing serious modification so I have been turfed out into the Kitchen. The DH is on a major spring clean/redecoration kick at the moment. He bought a new two seater (choclate coloured) leather settee , two new sideboards and a kitchen snug for the kitchen. He also repainted to living room,so instead of one orange wall, we now have three orange walls and one white!

I am getting rid of my PC Desk in the craft/games room and I am taking the smaller wooden table that came with the snug set. It will give me a lot more room to play with. I have to pick up another storage rack tomorrow to house the excess craft stash boxes.

Not much crafting going on due to the upheaval but just a shot of the last card I made- The Rosalie stamp from CC Designs..

Gone

February 16th, 2010

Yeah, I have been doing a runner from the Internet. I got caught up in book land again..Richard Montanari, Mo Hayder and Karin Slaughter have managed to lure me away for nearly a month. I have been online albeit briefly in the evenings ,mainly for about an hour -just long enough to charge the MP3 player then head off to the bedroom and snuggle down with me book!

I have the tendancy to do that from time to time, sorry but I do like to get lost in a good book! and once the bug catches you ,I have a hard time letting go!

On the cardmaking front ,I have been dabbling during the afternoons and did something yesterday that in all the time that I have been makng cards ,I have never done; Made a card from start to finsh in one sitting! Of course the camera battery is dead so I can’t take a shot of it! I normally, stamp then colour a bit,go away for a good few hours then colour a bit more then throw on some paper etc and that’s it, card done!

I pre-ordered the SugarPlums ,Spring Kit from C.C Designs from Quixotic Paperie the other night and I am uber excited about those! I am just loving CC Designs and The Greeting Farm stamps at the moment, anyway the mp3 player is now fully charged ,so it’s time to head off. It’s a School Day tomorrow ,I have enjoyed having him at home with us and the thought of letting him go back in the morning is killing me!

Strangely enough WS_FTP is playing up and won’t let me upload a pic of the Rosalie card that I made the other day! MEH.

Have Mercy On Me..

i just went a little crazy on eBay..My favourite seller of all time was having a 50% off sale and um..Well it was in Dollars and before the $12 postage it was $45..I got two Martha Stewart punches, three EK Success punches, some Hero Arts wooden stamps plus a set of clear Inkadoos.. I was a nice wee haul for the price! I do feel a tad guilty though-I mean it is Christmas in less than two weeks but um..

I managed to use my doe eyes to good effect and the blackmail convince the DH that buying my the rest of the Promarker set would be a wonderful gift for me!! hehehehe

I wish Christmas would hurry up and get here already! I dislike any holiday that disrupts my purchasing pleasure ..bah hum bug! We have all the boys gifts already bought, wrapped and hidden so the waiting part is the worst.

Speaking of  worst, not the best picture but the camera battery was dying so it was shot or wait 3 hours to recharge-I love this stamp, I got it last week from Quixotic Paperie which is officially my new favourite online retailer of all time!!
Isn’t she beautiful? Of course I never do them justice but gawds she and the rest of the bunch in Twinkle Tots range from the Greeting Farm are just uh!

The Bind-it-all was picked up today by the courier and is currently winging it’s way towards me…Not fast enough though!!

I have the journal pages and the mount-board all sitting waiting to be use!! grrr- lol it will get here in good time-I just wanted it yesterday!! Patience is not my strong suit I’m afraid!

We went to Dunelm Mill today. It was the DHs’ idea, he wanted another one of the TV blanket things that he bought the last time. Of course I headed into the Craft Department and walked out with some wonderful Bazzil basics card. You can’t have enough cardstock right?? The DH also bought this huge mother of all bean bags for £30. He is 6’5 but it is that big he looks like a child sitting on it!

I haven’t told him about the BIA yet.. Okay I paid for it with blogging money but he just thinks it is a waste of time and money. He got a glare from me when a courier delivery arrived for him yesterday. He bought another Wii and this time it really is wee! It’s black and it is about half the size of the original. He wanted it for the bedroom- why I have no clue but there you go..

Just one card to share. It is a Sugar Nellie stamp and the papers are from SU. My onderful SU rep, Tricia, sent them to me! I used my new SU punch-I think I love that punch already!

Cut down on spending the me way..

So ,I did it! I bought the Bind-it-All last night! It cost me £59.42 in all.. The machine was £49.99 then a set of 6 Wires plus 24 hour delivery by courier. I don’t think it was too bad!! The seller also gives a 10% discount on further consumables, overall I am pretty satisfied with that. Ruth (the seller) has organised the courier pickup for tomorrow , and I really cannot wait!!

I picked up the December issue of Craft Stamper and Creative CardMaking issue 9 from my usual sellers on eBay this evening as well.

Paul (my book dealer) has the fourth book in LA Banks Crimson Moon and the new Nalini Singh book both in stock. They will have to wait till next week though ,as I need to do the maths a bit , in order to see where I stand with the cash.

I do actually making cards with the things I buy. I don’t have  a huge amount of time because I have a family to hobble around after, but I have noticed that with the DS1 at school now ,I see to be able to have a bit more time to spend at playing with my toys.

Two cards to share; The Blue Blossom fairy is the monthly stamp club kit from LittleClaire. It did stick kinda close to the original design.

The second card ( I called him Ted) is an Alota Stamp that I purchased in a set direct from AlotaRubberStamps about two years ago now?

Opps I did it again

November 1st, 2009

Spend oodles of cash before I have it? Well kinda but I was actually referring to me messing up and having to do a fresh install yet again!

Gawds girl – get it togther!

Little Claire are running a stamp club for like £8.50 a month ,so I signed up! You get a 10% discount on purchases if you are a member!! Always handy!
I bought the Magnolia Ink Magazine, some Mount Board from eBay. And I paid for my October Stampin’ Up order.

I was a good girl!
I am hoping to get a Bind-It-All by the end of week ,so there goes that claim eh?
Oh well.

Just one card to share

There's always one..

Missing Pro-Marker…I’ve lost my Ivory Pro-marker ! I’ve ransacked the craftroom but to no avail- No pro-marker,well not the one I needed anyways.. I found another 76 of them, but not an ivory insight!  I went on a little runaround online and found a little store that wasn’t charging up to £2.50 postage for a £1.80 odds pen! I also bought a Fiskars swivel control knife ,another anti-static bag, some foam tape and some DS tape. Happy little shop!

I have had a little play with my Heidi and Gretel stamps that arrived last week , but true to me form I can’t find my battery charger for the camera. So no picces I’m afraid..

Yesterday the DH bought new darker curtains for the bedroom , and with the piece of cardboard that was used as an insert he made DS1 a ‘laptop’ ,of course chaos ensued as DS2 wanted a laptop as well.. So today went to Argos and bought them a laptop each!  Nice little surprise was that instead of the £19.99 we had expected to pay they were reduced to £15.96! It was saved pocket money -the boys are always given pocket money from the grandparents each week and we save it up then once a fortnight they buy themselves a toy.

Last time it was two Vtech games for DS1 and a set of eight friction trucks for DS2. £22 and £15 respectively, any excess is thrown back into the savings tub for a rollover. They buy all their own small toys from pocket monies, it teaches them about value. They never trash their toys because ‘they bought’ them  and don’t want to spend anymore replacing them.. That’s a bit suspect but still..
